ZIMBABWE IS BURNING FROM INSIDE AND ZANU PF IS TO BLAME

Zimbabwe is in danger again. This time, the danger is not from the people. It is coming from inside ZANU PF. The same party that has ruled Zimbabwe since independence in 1980 is now eating itself. There is a serious power fight between President Emmerson Mnangagwa and his deputy, General Constantino Chiwenga. And this fight is now turning violent.
After Robert Mugabe was removed in 2017, many people hoped for change. I was one of those people. As an activist, I believed that maybe Zimbabwe could finally be free. But I was wrong. Mnangagwa became president, but the suffering did not stop. He promised reforms, but things got worse. Corruption, poverty, and violence became normal. And now, even his own party is tired of him.
Chiwenga, who helped remove Mugabe, now wants to take over from Mnangagwa. He is not saying it directly, but his actions and words are clear. He has been talking about corruption as a “national security threat.” That is a direct attack on Mnangagwa and the people around him. He is building support, especially from those who feel left out or betrayed.
War veterans are now turning against Mnangagwa too. Blessed Geza, who speaks for many of them, says Mnangagwa must go. They say he has failed and is corrupt. This is a big shift because war veterans have always supported ZANU PF leaders. If they are now saying enough is enough, then things are truly bad.
Last night, the power fight became dangerous. Several businesses linked to Mnangagwa’s close friends were firebombed. Cars were burnt. This was not an accident. This was a message. A warning. The people targeted include big names like Kuda Tagwirei, Wicknell Chivayo, Tino Machakaire, and John Mangudya. These are men known to be close to the president. They have made a lot of money while most Zimbabweans suffer.
Wicknell Chivayo’s in-laws were recently attacked. Armed men stormed their home and stole US$75,000. This money was part of the US$125,000 lobola he had paid for his wife, Lucy Lulu Muteke. This robbery was not random. It was a sign. It was meant to scare him. Chivayo is seen as one of the faces of corruption under Mnangagwa’s rule. He shows off money while people are hungry. He is a symbol of everything that is wrong with this government.
These attacks are political. They are warnings. They are signs that ZANU PF is falling apart. There have also been break-ins and other scary things happening. People are being threatened. We are going back to the dark days, but this time, it is not the opposition being hunted. It is ZANU PF hunting itself.
As an activist, I have seen how dangerous ZANU PF can be. They lie, they steal, and they silence anyone who speaks out. But now, they are fighting each other. And it is the people of Zimbabwe who will suffer. If this power fight gets worse, it could lead to real chaos. People could die. Our country could fall apart again.
Democracy in Zimbabwe is a joke. We are ruled by fear and violence. Elections are stolen. Voices are silenced. Now, even those in power cannot trust each other. Mnangagwa is losing support. Even his friends are turning against him. Chiwenga is gaining power. The battle is getting hotter. Zimbabwe is sitting on a time bomb.
The people are tired. We want peace. We want real democracy. Not this fake version. But ZANU PF does not care about the people. They only care about power and money.
We must keep speaking out. We must expose the lies. As an activist, I will not stop. Zimbabwe deserves better. We all do.
This is a brave and timely article. ZANU PF is collapsing from the inside, and the people are the ones paying the price. Thank you for exposing the truth. The attacks on Mnangagwa’s allies show that even ZANU PF no longer believes in him. Their greed and violence are finally turning inward.
When corruption turns on itself, the people must stay alert. We must demand real change, not another recycled strongman in uniform. This is what happens when a regime rules by fear for too long , eventually, it eats its own. Zimbabweans deserve better than this endless cycle of power struggles.
