ZIMBABWE IS BROKEN BUT ZANU PF WANTS US TO CLAP

Zimbabwe is in deep trouble, and it is clear that ZANU PF has failed the people. As a political activist, I see every day how the system is not working for ordinary people. The country owes US$21 billion in debt, and this has destroyed our economy. This debt is too much for a country that does not earn enough. We are stuck. We cannot grow. We cannot move forward.

The money that should go to schools, hospitals, and roads is being used to pay debt. This means children are not learning, patients are not getting medicine, and roads are full of potholes. The lives of ordinary Zimbabweans are getting harder every day. Prices keep going up, and our money is losing value. A loaf of bread costs more today than it did last week. Our money, the ZiG, is still very new, and people do not trust it. Shops want US dollars, but where can people find them?

This debt crisis has made us beggars. We cannot borrow from international banks because they do not trust our government. We are blocked from the money that could help us recover. And while the people suffer, the leaders smile on TV and lie about progress.

Mnangagwa and his team keep saying Zimbabwe is doing well, but this is a lie. The economy is not growing in a way that helps the poor. Yes, they say it grew by 5.3% in 2023, but what does that mean to a mother who cannot feed her children? In 2024, they say growth will fall to 2% because of drought. They are blaming the weather, but the real problem is corruption and bad leadership.

The government says it has started something called the High-Level Structured Dialogue Platform. This is just a big name for something that will never work under ZANU PF. They talk about good governance, land reform, and human rights. But how can they speak of human rights while arresting opposition leaders, beating protesters, and silencing the media?

Land reform is another joke. The people who got land have no proper papers. Now the government says it will give them documents, but why did it take more than 20 years? And what about those farmers who were pushed out violently—some have not been paid. The budget only gives a little money for them. This is not justice. This is a trick.

They also claim to be fighting corruption. They say they are making new laws and protecting whistleblowers. But who has been arrested? The rich and powerful are still free. Only the poor are punished. The leaders are living large while people are starving.

Now they are talking to the IMF for a programme to help manage reforms. But this kind of help always comes with pain. Poor people will suffer more when subsidies are cut. And we know ZANU PF will steal any new money that comes in.

As an activist, I will continue to speak the truth. I will not stop telling the world what is really happening. Democracy is under attack. We are being ruled by fear. Elections are rigged. Opponents are jailed. The media is controlled. We must stand up and fight back.

Zimbabwe cannot fix its debt while it is still ruled by ZANU PF. Real change must come. Until then, we will keep exposing the lies and pushing for a free Zimbabwe. We deserve a country where leaders work for the people—not for themselves.
