NO PROMISES, ONLY VIOLENCE: WHAT TO EXPECT IN THE NEXT ELECTIONS

As the country heads into another election, there will be no promises of change or improvement. The reason is simple: in the past, the promises made were fake. The current government, led by ZANU-PF, made promises during the last election in 2018. But these promises were never kept. The government has shown no real desire to change things. They have failed to make the necessary reforms that could improve the country. Because of this, they are no longer seen as legitimate leaders.
In the upcoming elections, ZANU-PF will not even bother to make new promises. They know that their past words have lost all meaning. Instead of trying to win votes with plans for the future, the government will rely on violence to keep power. This is a strategy they have used before, and it has been effective in keeping them in control.
ZANU-PF’s history of failing to deliver on promises is not new. The party has been in power for many years, but it has not done much to improve the lives of ordinary people. Instead, the focus has been on keeping power at all costs. The government has become more focused on self-enrichment and has ignored the needs of the people. Over time, the state has become paralyzed, and the systems that are meant to serve the people have begun to fail. The situation has become so bad that the country is now on the brink of collapse.
Despite the problems facing the country, ZANU-PF still wants to stay in power. The government does not want to be held accountable for its actions. In a functional democracy, the government would be required to be transparent and responsible. But ZANU-PF has weakened the laws that should protect the people. The party has taken control of the judiciary, ensuring that the legal system works in its favor. This means that even if there are challenges to their rule, the courts are unlikely to hold the government accountable.
ZANU-PF’s real plan is to establish a one-party state. In such a system, they would not have to face any competition from other political parties. This would allow them to continue plundering the country’s resources without facing any consequences. The country’s natural and financial resources would continue to be looted, with no one able to stop them. The only thing standing in the way of ZANU-PF’s complete control is the people, but the government is prepared to use violence to silence any opposition.
In the past, ZANU-PF has used violence as a tool to maintain power. This tactic has worked because it creates fear among the people. Those who oppose the government are often targeted, and this discourages others from speaking out. Violence has become a key part of ZANU-PF’s strategy because it ensures that the people remain too afraid to demand change. By using force, the government can avoid addressing the real problems facing the country, such as the lack of healthcare, education, electricity, and jobs.
The situation in the country is dire, but ZANU-PF is not interested in solving these issues. They have had five years to address these problems but have done nothing. The government has had the chance to govern responsibly, but instead, it has chosen to focus on keeping power through illegal means. The upcoming elections will not bring any change because the government has already shown that it does not care about the well-being of the people.
Instead of looking for ways to improve the country, ZANU-PF is focused on staying in power by any means necessary. The next election will not be about promises or hope for the future. It will be about violence and control. The government will not offer solutions, and the people will continue to suffer. This is the sad reality of the upcoming elections. There will be no promises, only violence.
