ZIMBABWE GOLD CURRENCY COLLAPSE SHOWS HOW ZANU PF IS KILLING DEMOCRACY

Zimbabwe is in deep trouble. The country owes over US$21 billion. That is a very big amount of money, and Zimbabwe cannot pay it back. This debt has destroyed our economy. Because of this, there is no real growth, no jobs, and no progress for the people. We are suffering because of a government that does not care about the future.

As a political activist, I speak out against this failure. I fight for real change and democracy. But every day, ZANU PF continues to make life worse for the ordinary person. They steal, they lie, and they protect each other while the people starve. Their system is not about helping Zimbabweans. It is about holding on to power at any cost.

Now we are told that we have a new currency called Zimbabwe Gold, or ZiG. The government says it is backed by gold, but the truth tells a different story. This ZiG has become the worst-performing currency in the world. Yes, the whole world. While other countries are moving forward, Zimbabwe is moving backwards.

This does not make sense. In 2024, gold became more valuable than ever. It went up by 28.61%. Gold started the year at $590.16 per ounce and hit $2,685.49 by September. If ZiG is backed by gold, it should be stronger, not weaker. But in Zimbabwe, nothing is ever what it seems.

Finance minister Mthuli Ncube has failed to explain why this is happening. He says many things but does not answer the real question. Why is the currency collapsing if gold is going up? He talks in ways people do not understand. He cannot even speak good Shona to explain things to the common man. This shows how disconnected the leaders are from the people.

Zimbabweans are tired. We have suffered from currency problems before. We remember the days of the trillion-dollar notes. Now it is happening again, just with a new name. Prices are going up, and salaries cannot buy anything. People are losing their savings again. This is not just an economic problem—it is a human crisis.

Some of us are asking: is ZiG really backed by gold? Or is the government lying again? Do they even have the gold they claim to have? No one knows. There is no proof, and Ncube does not give any clear answers. This makes people more scared and more angry.

Corruption is part of the problem. The same ZANU PF officials who broke the economy are now asking us to trust them. But how can we? They have never been honest. They take public money and live in luxury while hospitals have no medicines and children have no food. This is not just failure. It is theft.

As an activist, I speak because I know silence is dangerous. We must not allow these lies to continue. Democracy means the people must know the truth. But in Zimbabwe, truth is hidden. Instead, the people are fed lies and propaganda. That is not democracy. That is dictatorship.

Many experts say Zimbabwe’s currency crisis comes from poor government policy, corruption, and a total lack of trust in leadership. Even the global economy cannot explain what is happening here. The main reason is ZANU PF. They broke the economy and now they are breaking our hopes.

ZiG was supposed to bring stability. But instead, it brought more suffering. It has failed. And the government has no plan to fix it. Ncube just avoids the questions. There are no solutions—only confusion and silence.

Zimbabweans deserve better. We deserve honest leaders who care. We deserve a currency that works. We deserve democracy. The collapse of the ZiG is not just about money. It is about a system that has failed the people over and over again.

ZANU PF must be held accountable. We must keep fighting. We must keep speaking. We must demand change. Because if we don’t, things will only get worse.
