POLICE AND MILITARY IN ZIMBABWE: LIVING IN HEAVEN WHILE THE MASSES SUFFER
In Zimbabwe, the police and military seem to be living a very different life compared to ordinary people. While most Zimbabweans are struggling with problems like high prices, low wages, and a lack of jobs, the police and military enjoy a more comfortable life. The government has focused on keeping these two groups happy, while ignoring the needs of the rest of the country.
Zimbabwe is facing many challenges because of the actions of the current government, known as Zanu PF. The party has been in power for many years, but instead of improving the country, it has caused a lot of suffering. The government does not care about the basic needs of the people, like food, jobs, and health care. This has led to serious problems across the country. The country is failing to function properly, which could cause even bigger problems in the future, not just for Zimbabwe but for the whole region.
Despite this, some people in the country are protected from these issues. The police and military are the two main groups who continue to live comfortably, even as the rest of the country suffers. The police and military have special privileges that most Zimbabweans can only dream of. They have better access to food, health care, and education for their children. While everyone else struggles to get by, they are living in a sort of “heaven on earth.”
This situation is made worse by the fact that the police and military are part of the reason why the government remains in power. The government relies on them to stay in control. In return, the police and military are given special treatment. This is a big problem because these groups are being used to control and oppress the ordinary people of Zimbabwe. Instead of serving and protecting the people, the police and military are helping the government stay in power, even though the government is not doing its job of helping the people.
The situation in Zimbabwe has become very tense. In 2018, after the elections, the military was sent out to control protests. People were unhappy with the election results, and they were exercising their right to protest. But instead of allowing them to protest peacefully, the military was used to shoot and kill unarmed civilians. This was a very dark moment in Zimbabwe’s history, and it showed how far the government is willing to go to stay in power.
Another example is the arrest of opposition leader Job Sikhala. He has been arrested many times for speaking out against the government. Even though the police are supposed to uphold the law, they often work for the benefit of the government, arresting those who speak out against it. The situation is so bad that people in Zimbabwe live in fear, knowing that the police and military can be used against them at any time.
While the masses are struggling with the high cost of living and lack of basic services, the police and military enjoy a better life. They have their own special hospitals, schools, and even a separate currency that protects them from the problems faced by ordinary citizens. Inflation is a big problem in Zimbabwe, and prices keep going up. But the police and military have ways to avoid this, and they are able to live without the same worries as everyone else.
The situation in Zimbabwe is very difficult. The government is failing to provide for its people, but at the same time, it is doing everything it can to keep the police and military happy. This is dangerous because it creates a divide between those who are suffering and those who are benefiting from the government’s actions. As long as the police and military continue to support the government, it is unlikely that things will change for the better.
The people of Zimbabwe deserve a government that cares about them, not just one that looks after its own interests. Until the police and military stop supporting a corrupt government, the suffering of ordinary people will continue.
